

(SSG, US Army, Retired) passed away on February 14, 2013. Don served in the US Navy from January 1966 to October 1969 on the USS Providence; he also served in the Army National Guard from October 1976 to December 1994.
Don’s civil servant job was being a mechanic on the tanks and painting them.
In the spring of 1970, Don met his wife and they were married on December 12, 1970. They shared 40 wonderful years together, raised two daughters and have two grandsons.
Don loved to be outdoors, whether he was just getting some sun or gardening, he wanted to be outdoors.
Don was a quite simple man, but when he gets around his brothers and sisters the laughter could be heard for miles around.
Don is survived by his daughter, Charlene “Charly” Phillips and his son-in-law, William, brothers, Duane, Jim, Dean, Dale, John, Bill and sisters, Sharon and Linda, grandsons, Daniel and David Turner.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna and daughter, Susan, parents, Glenn and Willmetta, brother, Melvin and sister Mary. In lieu of flowers the family would like trees planted in Memory of Don. He was a great husband, dad, brother, granddad and friend. We will miss you deeply.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 4-7:00 pm and funeral services will be Thursday, February, 21 10:00 am at Swan-Law Funeral Directors at Cascade Chapel, burial will follow at Calhan Cemetery.
