He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Corpsman. He retired from the United States Civil Service where he was employed as an illustrator/artist for the General Staff and Command College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS and served as an Elder for over 60 years in the Community of Christ Church (formerly known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).
He is preceded in death by wife Pearl Marie Cordwell whom he married October 8, 1945 and a grandson (Ryan Jendzejec).
He is survived by their children: Donald W. Wagler, Susan E. Jendzejec, and Sharon A. Wright as well as 7 grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Community of Christ Church on April 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. with a final resting place at the Drury-Reynolds Cemetery in Rock Island County, Illinois (date is pending). Donations in his honor can be made to Outreach International or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
