Douglas (Doug) Gieben was 81 years young when he passed away at home with his family by his side. Doug was born on December 15, 1941 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Doris Evelyn and Boniface August Gieben. He leaves behind his wife Brigitte, sister Myrna Wulgaert, two children Tina Howell and Randy Gieben, and three lovely grandchildren Cory Howell, Brittany Howell, Brooke Gieben and four great grandchildren. Doug graduated in 1960 from East High School in Green Bay. He joined the military (Air Force) November 1, 1960 and retired after 23 years on December 31, 1983. He was so proud to serve as a First Sergeant at the Air Force Academy for five years before retiring. After which he worked as a postal carrier for 15 years. Doug and wife bought a recreational vehicle and traveled the U.S. for many years. They also traveled the world in his military career and more after retirement. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Go PACK. Doug always wore green and yellow packers clothing. He loved to talk about football with anyone. He enjoyed volleyball, bowling, fishing, golfing, and cooking everything on his grill, even in the rain and snow. Doug and his children enjoyed waterskiing and snowmobiling together. Doug left a large hole in our lives, but even in death we feel his love rushing in to fill that emptiness.
