Born in Colorado Springs, Wayne graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1955 and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Sally Sue Patton, and together they raised six children.
Wayne worked for Bank of America in California for many years before returning to Colorado to run a roofing business. He was a quiet, generous man who loved western novels, the outdoors, and caring for others—including several individuals with special needs who became part of the family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sally; children Shannan (Jeff), Shawna, Guy (Jon), Jared (Michelle), Kami (David), and Elizabeth; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 8, at Peyton Community Church, 13697 Manitou St, Peyton, CO 80831.
