Effie Starlyne Brower

Effie Starlyne Brower, 80, of Lenexa, KS, passed away peacefully at 4:51 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She was born June 5, 1937 in Dallas, Texas, to Starley and Ella Lee Mathews. She married Jerry Brower on August 2nd, 1986. Starlyne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry.

Starlyne grew up in Dallas, Texas, then moved to McPherson, Kansas to attend Central College. She lived in Munich, Germany, Nebraska, Thousand Oaks, California, Colorado Springs, and most recently near her children in the Kansas City area.

She is remembered with love by her children Dusty Rhodes and spouse Valerie of Overland Park, KS , Dan Rhodes and spouse Paul Nguyen of Los Angeles, CA, Deb Rhodes and spouse Lee MacDonald of Mulvane KS, Derek Rhodes and spouse Estefania of Escondido, CA, and stepchildren Mike Brower, Rick and spouse Michelle Brower, and Brenda LaMont and spouse Kenny, and her precious dog, Maggie. Also surviving Starlyne is her brother Wayne Mathews and spouse Andrea, of Bothell, WA. She is also lovingly remembered as Grandma by 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one more on the way.

The visitation is from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 5055 El Camino Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Reverend Allan Scott will be officiating. The burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
