

Wayne was born March 31, 1936 in Texas to Burie and Mabel Hickman. Wayne was the youngest of four children.
Wayne enlisted in the Army at the age of 17, and served 3 years. After he was released from the Army he met his beautiful wife, Virginia Baker, at Airline Assembly of God in Houston Texas and married her September 2, 1956. Later they welcomed 4 children, Pamela, Karen, Tammy and Wayne.
July 4th, 1956 Wayne gave his life to the Lord and later had a calling on his life to be a Minister of the Gospel. Wayne went to Southwestern Assemblies of God in Waxahachie Texas and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling. He received his Ordination from the General Council of the Assemblies and then transferred to Foursquare Church. Wayne Pastored many churches before his retirement. He was a fisher of men and his desire was to see every family member come to know Jesus as their personal Savior.
Wayne leaves behind his beautiful wife of 68 years, Virginia, loving children Pam (Steve) Etienne, Karen (Shawn) King, Tammy (Ron) Emrick and Wayne (Tara) Hickman; 14 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Wayne is preceded in passing by his parents Burie and Mabel Hickman and siblings Louise, Bill and Lloyd.
A Visitation for Eldon will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00AM at Inspiration Church, 1218 Prairie Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Inspiration Church in memory of Wayne Hickman.
