

Eldon Charles “Chuck” Levi, 89, retired First Sergeant, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed peacefully on May 27, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chuck was born in Dedham, Iowa on November 25, 1925 the only child of Ernest Eldon and Lola Lucille (Murphy) Levi.
Chuck served his country in two branches of the military. The navy from 1942-1946 as a pharmacist-mate on the Battleship USS Washington “BB56” during WWII. And in the medical field of the army from 1950-1976, including the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Chuck served for a total time of 33 years, one month, and two days.
Chuck was married to Marcella Marie Danner on January 31, 1946 in Osceola, Iowa. She preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter LaDonna J. (Frank) Skufca of Aurora, Colorado, three sons, Jerry D. (Karen) Levi, Robert E. (Norma) Levi, and Jeffery D. (Barbara) Levi all of Colorado Springs, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A son Ronald C. Levi also preceded him in death.
The viewing will be at 6:30pm on Monday at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 North Cascade Avenue with a rosary service following at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at Holy Apostle Catholic Church, 4925 North Carefree Circle. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
