Born in Brandywine, Maryland, January 14th, 1931, Ellie with her husband, Baxter Rees and children, relocated to Colorado Springs in 1965, where she made her home for the remainder of her life. After the passing of her husband, she spent her winters between Mesa, Arizona and Colorado Springs, Colorado with her beloved second husband, Eugene Snow, embracing the sunshine and an active lifestyle.
Ellie lived a life devoted to faith, family, and joy. A proud and loving mother of five, she often said raising her children was the best full time job she ever had. She was an avid reader, a devoted Christian, and a woman who was always on the move. There were always errands to run and places to go, often with her oldest daughter Pamela, by her side.
She is survived by her children Pamela Brunetti, Michael Rees, Robin McGee, Susan Hurd, and Daniel Rees, along with three sons-in-law, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ellie’s long and healthy life was filled with love, laughter, and faith.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens located in Colorado Springs. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a beautiful life well lived.
Ellie’s family honors her strength, adventurous spirit, and unwavering faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to inspire those she loved. We celebrate her life and release her into the arms of God with gratitude and love.
