

Elinor grew up in Rochester, New York, and, after attending Keuka College, she spent her early years working as an executive secretary for a military commander serving the United States State Department in the rebuilding of Austria after WWII.
She was married in Salzburg to First Lt. Joseph W. Schuller, Jr., and the couple later moved to Denver, CO where they began their family. During that time, Elinor worked for KWGN TV, and was celebrated for being one of the first to “break the pantsuit barrier” for professional women in the late 1960’s.
The family relocated to San Antonio, Texas in the early 1970’s where Elinor attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, studying studio painting and art history.
When her first grandchildren came along, Elinor moved with her daughter Chris and her husband David, sharing their lives in a number of overseas assignments including Alaska, Indonesia and Scotland.
Elinor was a loving mother of three and had five devoted grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Reiners of Rochester, New York, and by her children Chris (David) Crockett of Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph (Margo) Schuller III of Vero Beach FL and Catherine (Bryan) Hicks of Marble Falls, TX. Her surviving grandchildren are Dani La Prez of Louisville KY, Alana (Ivy Love) Crockett of Tacoma Park MD, Kiefer (Dione Kobayashi) Hicks of Cambridge MA, Elin (Axel Hunnicutt) Crockett of Santa Fe NM, and Duncan (Amanda Ack) Hicks of Austin, TX.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Eva Seelbinder, brother, David Seelbinder and sister, Rosemary Jung.
Elinor enjoyed travel, snow skiing, sewing, painting and art, spending time with her siblings and pointing out grammatical errors.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be given to the charity of your choice.
A private service will be held later in Texas for Elinor’s family and friends.
