Died: August 2, 2015
He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Joyce, and children: Ginny (Joe) Schermerhorn, Judy (Tim) McLaughlin and Ron (Amy) Smith, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and twelve foster children.
Mr.. Smith was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was a Civil Engineer (P.E.) working on many projects in Indiana, Pennsylvania and Florida. Notable projects are the Saltgrass Expressway and entrances and egresses for Joe Robbie Stadium in Florida. He retired to Colorado Springs in 2005.
Mr.. Smith enjoyed Civil War history, hunting, Western novels and was a master at jigsaw puzzles. He was a gentle giant who loved the Lord and displayed a strong work ethic to friends and family. He had a dry wit and profound insight. His love for his family took precedence during his retirement. We are sad at his passing but rejoice that he is celebrating eternity with our Lord and Savior.
