Jeannie died January 9, 2026, in the Brookdale (Monument Valley Park) Assisted Living facility, Colorado Springs, Colorado; embraced and supported by her family. She was 93. Born October 14, 1932, at Beth-El (Memorial) General Hospital, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jeannie's parents were Bert (Bird), Stringer and Mary Edith Nicklas.
Jeannie is survived by her three sons, Marion (Darlene), Polson, Montana; Mark (Cathleen), Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Kim, Casper, Wyoming; her six grandchildren; Jordan, Clint, Katelyn, Kristen, Dylan, and Ashlyn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Jeannie is being remembered as a loving mother and a dedicated wife who enjoyed sewing and knitting Afghan blankets. She is also remembered for her sharp memory, her quick and engaging wit, her problem-solving intervention skills, and her natural communication ability. She had over a 20-year career as the Division Secretary for the Police Department of the City of Lakewood, Colorado.
Jeannie spent five years at Stringer Homestead in Park County, Colorado as a young child; graduated high school in Pueblo, Colorado; attended one year of collage in Denver, Colorado; lived in Denver for over 40 years, and then resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the remainder of your life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years. At the request of the deceased no funeral service will be held, the deceased will be interred at her mountain ranch, next to her beloved husband, Ben Cooper, in Park County, Colorado.
