Eva was born April 9, 1947, in Delano, California. She was the third child, behind big sister Elizabeth Ann and big brother Eddie Glenn, born to Lois Irene and Joseph Glenn Brantley. While Eva was still very young, Glenn and Lois brought their family back to Sterling OK where Eva grew up and attended school. She graduated as valedictorian of the Sterling High School class of 1965.
Eva married Ronnie Woods on August 21, 1965. This union produced Eva’s first greatest joy, being a mother to her son, Dustin DeWayne and daughter, Tracy Leigh. She was a full-time mom. Her primary interests, in addition to reading, gardening and crochet, were whatever her children were involved in. She rarely missed an event or activity that involved her kids. She was a dependable constant in their lives that never once wavered. Her love and pride in her family only grew with the blessings of her grandsons Daniel and Matthew (wife Haley), granddaughter Joselyn, and most recently great-grandson Calvin. Her children arise and call her blessed.
Eva also had a full-time career. She faithfully and proudly served her country as a Civil Servant in the Tactics and Combined Arms Department at the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, OK. She received many awards and recognition for outstanding service over her 20+ years of service before retiring in 1998.
On January 28, 2004, Eva married Robert Germano. This union produced Eva’s second greatest joy, traveling and playing in the mountains of Colorado with her best friend. In addition to riding bicycles, hiking, and riding ATVs in Rocky Mountain National Park they enjoyed visiting mountain towns, abandoned ghost towns and taking drives to see the aspens change. Their most recent and extensive hobby was rockhounding and digging for crystals to add to their impressive collection. Eva and Bob were married for 21 years. They enjoyed life and loved each other well for every one of those years (even the hard ones).
Eva’s most significant decision was made at a young age when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Therefore, we rejoice that this earthly death is not the end of her story. The moment she accepted Christ as her Savior she was given the free gift of the promise of eternal life in heaven. Eva saw the faithful fulfillment of that promise and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.
Eva will be remembered with love and gratitude by her husband, Bob, of the home; her son Dustin Woods and wife Kelly, Comanche, OK; daughter, Tracy Meraz and husband Gerald, Claremore, OK; grandson, Daniel Flores, Marshall, TX; grandson, Matthew Woods and wife Haley, Walters, OK; granddaughter, Joselyn Shires, Sanger TX; great-grandson, Calvin Woods, Walters, OK, and brother, Eddie Brantley and wife Jane, Sterling, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Lois Brantley; sister, Beth Ann Glandon; brother-in-law, Jim Glandon; niece, Rhonda Moorhead, and nephew, Doug Brantley.
Funeral services for Eva Jean Brantley Germano will be Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Sterling, 29 Olive Street, Sterling, OK, 73567 with Pastor Larry Tidwell, officiating.
