On September 21st, 2024, Faye Jean Aitken passed away peacefully. She happily greets grandparents, parents, husband, son, other relatives, a companion, and many dear friends. She says, “See you later” to those she loves and leaves here on earth. She is survived by sister Sharon Horner, brother John Clouse, sons Thomas (Sarah) Aitken and Steve (Peggi) Aitken, grandchildren, Ami Aitken, Tavis (Amy) Aitken, Victoria (Rob) White, Alexandria (Eric) Feichtinger, and Courtney Aitken, great grandchildren, Skye Adams, Jairus White, Willemina White, and beloved nieces and nephews.
She was born in Yale, Michigan in 1930 and grew up on her Grandparents (Welch’s) farm where her grandma Alward would run and play with her and her uncles who all lived with the family. She met and married Gerald Bennet Aitken just out of high school in 1951, and began their family in Croswell, MI. After his passing in 1970, she traveled and moved around, always chasing the rays of the sun. When she lived in Michigan or Florida, she delighted in being near and watching the water and the boats going by. When she lived in Colorado she enjoyed the sunshine. She loved to travel, read, and write a bit. She made a hobby of collecting, altering, and sharing dolls, hats, and other clothing. The southwest always carried a certain magic for her, with native american style and turquoise jewelry. She signed Christmas cards and gifts “With love from Santa Faye.” Her final years were spent in Colorado Springs at Sunny Vista Living Center.
A family gathering to inter her ashes at Croswell Cemetery will be held December 7th in Croswell, MI. A gathering to celebrate her life will follow in Lexington, MI. She loved flowers but hoped to enjoy them all before her passing. In her honor, those participating in the celebration of life are invited to wear her favorite color, Coral.
