He was born on January 24, 1942, in Hazelton, Iowa to Timothy and Esther Kies Vargason.
Fred married Raymalene A. Kramer on June 23, 1961 in Iowa, who survives him. He is also survived by a son, Jason (Kendra) Vargason; granddaughters, Brittany, Makayla, Courtney and Alexis; great-granddaughter,
Anna K.; sisters, Janet (Larry) Bolton of Tucson, Arizona, and Jeanette (Ron) Brough of Momouth, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Billy Joe and sister, Deanna.
He joined the Army in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War. He attended Agra Business College in Iowa,
graduating with his Associates Degree. Fred was a carpenter, welder and business owner.
Fred’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gourmet cooking and painting pictures.
His greatest joys were his granddaughters.
