She was born in Ludell, Kansas, on January 20th, 1939. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1957.
During her lifetime, Frieda worked for Palmer High School as a cafeteria worker. Following this, she became employed with the advertising department with the Colorado Springs Gazette telegraph.
Frieda loved spending time with her family, sewing and quilting, baking, playing cards with friends and gardening.
Frieda is preceded in death by her parents, Emil Christian and Frieda Marie Gaulke; brother, Edgar Gaulke; sisters, Katherine Johnson and Ruth Ammeter; and her granddaughter, Lindsay Law.
She is survived by her children, Tami Lynn Law (Lynn), Robert David Shaw (Lynne), Brett Douglas Shaw (Gina); grandchildren Alyssa Caceres, Kalyn Cota (Julian), Jonathan Shaw, Benjamin Shaw, Mitchell Shaw, Naomi Shaw and Abigail Shaw; great-grandchildren Willow Miller and Turner Cota; along with many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, February 18th, 2023 beginning at 3pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 2221 North Wasatch Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. Reception will follow the service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Frieda’s name to Pikes Peak Hospice.
