

Seeger died of multiple myeloma at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born to George Joseph “Bud” Seeger and Edna Marie (Terbush) Seeger on April 21, 1936, and grew up in Rosston, Okla. Seeger had two older sisters, Joanne Schumann, Jeanette Wiatt and a younger brother, Donald Seeger who all preceded him in death. Seeger’s family moved to Lakin, Kan. where he attended Lakin High School and graduated.
Seeger joined the Marine Corps after graduating high school. He served as a Corporal from 1954-1956. After being discharged from the Marine Corps Seeger moved to Kearney, Neb. There he attended Kearney State Teachers College, now known as the University of Nebraska at Kearney. There Seeger met wife Janet Jane Read and they were married shortly after on June 14, 1957.
Seeger and his wife were blessed with two children, Julie J. Seeger born on Oct. 4, 1959 and Kelly D. Seeger born on July 17, 1961.
Seeger moved his family to Colorado Spring in 1971, where he started his business Alumeco. In later years, Seeger changed the name to “Seeger Homes” and began to sell manufactured and modular homes. Seeger was president of the Colorado Manufactured Housing Association for a time. Looking to retire Seeger sold the business but remained active in several other business ventures up until the time of his death.
Seeger is survived by, his wife, Janet Seeger, of Colorado Springs Colo.; his daughter, Julie J. Seeger, of Highlands Ranch Colo.; his son, Kelly (Liz) Seeger, of Colorado Springs Colo.; his grandchildren, Michael Seeger, Julie T. Seeger (Zach Brown), Kevin Seeger, of Colorado Springs Colo.; and Angela Staschke, of Englewood Colo.; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Barrilleaux, of Colorado Springs Colo.; sister-in-law, Lorraine Seeger, of Colorado Springs Colo.; brother-in-law Edward Wiatt, of Lakin Kan,; and many dear nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Swan Law Funeral Directors. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Swan Law. Donations in Seeger’s name can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or The Assistance League of Colorado Springs.
