Georgiana Branam

Georgiana was born in Calhan, CO to Anna (Timora) and John Pylypczuk

on December 9, 1926. Her mother Anna (Timora) was from Austria her father John Pylypczuk was from near Austria. They did not meet until they came to America and both ended up in Leadville, CO. They were married in the Church in Denver, then later homesteaded a farm in Ramah, CO where Georgie grew up. Growing up she had 4 brothers and 2 Sisters.

She went to a one room school grades 1-8. She loved everything about school except Geometry in high school. When she finished school she left home and moved to Colorado Springs to live with her brother.

During this period she found a job at a cake company making roses. She and her three girlfriends went on blind dates and she met her Irish husband Robert Branam. He was stationed at Camp Carson, then Camp Hale near Leadville.

She married Robert Lee Branam on November 28, 1946 in Calhan, CO, they were married for 41 years.

Georgie worked as a group leader/manager for Clifton Precision for 13 years. They made precision parts for industry. Then she worked at Current Paper Company for many years while raising two sons:

James and John Branam.

They decided to retire in Penrose where Robert could start a little farm. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1987 before he could accomplish that dream. Georgie put her heart into that little farm, planting and watering alfalfa. The hard work helped her through her grief.

She then decided she wanted to work less and travel more. She moved to Canon City and realized that dream. She went on multiple cruises to Mexico and Hawaii, flew to Germany, and many trips around this country. She loved to travel with her niece Sandy.

Georgie was a member of the Southern Colorado Family Polka Club. She loved going to the Polkas and dancing.

In her later years she loved playing bingo, cards, and especially rummy.

She loved her family dearly. She loved to keep up on everything… she looked forward to talking to Mike Pylypczuk, Chris Kosley, Barb & Mark Moore, and Donna & Rick Flores on a regular basis.

Georgie was preceded in death by: Her Mother and Father, Anna (Timora) & John Pylypczuk; her Husband Robert Lee Branam: her Son, James Robert Branam; her Brothers: John Pylypczuk Jr. Phillips (Dorothy Kosley); Sam Pylypczuk (Catherine Eurich Pylypczuk); Nicholas Pylypczuk (Opal Pylypczuk); Andy Pylypczuk (Frances Pylypczuk); her Sisters: Helen Pylypczuk Manyik (Joe Manyik); Mary Pylypczuk McMickle (Mack McMickle); and several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews; her Brother-in-Law Tom Moore.

Georgie is survived by: her Son, John Clyde Branam (Lynn Branam); her Daughter-in-Law, Cathy Branam; Sister-in-Law, Barb Moore; Grandkids, Christopher Robert Branam (Stephanie Branam); Matthew James Branam (Kathie Branam); Scott Andrew Branam; Jenny Branam Schwarck; Carrie Branam Smith (Scott Smith); Melissa Branam; Bridgette Kelly (John Kelly); Robert Lee Branam (Lacey Branam); Sean Branam; her Great Grandkids, Taylan Schwarck, Levi Smith, Josie Smith, Ayden Blair; Marcus Branam; Madison Branam; Haley Kelly; Hannah Kelly; Brittany Contos (Paul Contos); Chase Branam; Caitlyn Branam; Allison Clawson (Thyson Clawson); Adoni Branam; Derrick Branam (Juliet Velder); Trevor Branam; James Wesley Branam; her Great-Great Grandkids: Avery Contos, Tylie Clawson; Twins Paxton & Harper Velder Branam; many Nieces and Nephews; many Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
