

Gordon Royce West (1933-2012) of Colorado Springs passed away after a short illness on December 4, 2012 surrounded by family and his dog, Annie. Gordon was born on July 4, 1933 in Monroe, WI to John and Emma West (Tertin). He was one of 12 siblings and lived and worked on his family's dairy farm until he enlisted in military service.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves from 1956-1962, during which time he met and married Patricia De Luce. The couple lived in Connecticut for several years before moving to Colorado Springs in 1971 with their three children .
In Colorado Gordon worked in the construction industry until opening his own business. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for over 20 years.Gordon loved fishing, boating, playing cards, dancing, books, and all animals. He was always there with a helping hand and a joke for friends, neighbors, and family. Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Victoria West (DeLuce), after 46 years of marriage. He is survived by his children: Christopher (Kathy) West of Colorado Springs; Jennifer Michener of Colorado Springs; and David West of Black Forest; brother Dilbert West of Illinois, sister-in-law Virginia (Thomas) Fiden of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren: Geoffrey and Ashley Michener, and many nieces and nephews as well as his devoted rescue dog, Annie.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
