Dear great grandma, I wish you were here for mothers day today matter fact I made you a card I wish you could read. I really miss you.  on your funeral day I was to sad I could not put my hand on you casket the next day I wanted to see you one more time but I could not. I love you and miss you so much.

Mom-I cannot believe a year has gone by since we lost you.  I wanted so badly to call you last week, sometimes a girl just needs her mom and no one else will do and that is how I felt.  Though I would never have wished more suffering on you, I will always wish we had more time.  You were loved on this earth and I know you are loved in your new life. Love and miss you, Tina

Grandma I miss you so much and I think about you everyday I remember I never spent much time with you I regret it more then anything I have ever done I know this may have been for the best you were very sick but it may have not been the for me I love you more then anything in the world and I just want you to Know Your granddaughter Teagan❤

Hi Mom.  Well the holidays have come and gone and nothing was the same without you.  I have so many fond memories of how you decorated the house and baked for days.  Even though I moved away I recall like yesterday the  minute I walked through the door on Thanksgiving or Christmas - the aroma was just "home"....I have your love for holiday decorating and making more food than anyone will eat....I confess I did not live up to those standards this year.  I always loved how you continued to put up a tree and decorate even though we were all grown...yes there were the grand kids but I believe you would continue to do that regardless just because you liked to and I loved that you liked that!!  I miss our many discussions-- I feel so lucky to have had the relationship we had.....I am glad I picked your brain about your life, I will hold those things close.  I can't believe you aren't here but I know you are keeping company with Dad and all the others gone from this life into the next and keeping tabs on all of us left behind for now.   I miss you terribly but so grateful you are no longer suffering.  Love you mom!

Hey grandma, wow this is hard cooked my first big thanksgiving last week you should have been there it wasn't the same you always made it look easy and where always so beautiful to watch, I on the other hand burnt the ham and all I could think about was how never would have let that happen. I remember all the Sunday coffee we had and how excited I was when I moved back to have that again. I think we only got one or two in and that wasn't enough I miss you I love how close we have gotten over the years and how amazing you were to loukas we are so lucky and blessed to have you, and I know I will see you again!!!! Love you Grandma!!

Dear grandma I want you to know that I love you I will miss you. I will never forget waking up to the smell of bacon and eggs in the morning every time we would come and visit with you and grandpa. I don't know about you but I grew up being told by the commercials that waking up to folders in your cup is the way to go but I would prefer to wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs lol. I loved how kind and sweet you were I loved how you could calm down a heated conversation.  I'm so glad we came down for thanksgiving last year I didn't know it would be the last time we would see each other you will never know how much it means to me that you always made time for your grand kids no matter how busy things got.  I will never forget seeing how happy you were to have most of your kids and grandkids with you for thanksgiving last year. You were like a little kid at Christmas. You will never know how much you mean to me.  Well Grandma until I see you again in heaven lucky you, can't wait to see you again Love your grandson Vince :)

Miss you mom.  I constantly want to pick up the phone and call you, see how you are. Every day is an adjustment...I miss you very much and think about you every day!  Love you!

I will miss you dear mom everyday. To soon you was taken away. How does one go on when you lose your mom. I take comfort that you are home with Jesus Christ and with this I can be at peace. Goodbye sweet mom.  I love you and I will cherish your memory.

I will never forget the first time I met Gwen. That was the day I was unsure if she was going to except or even like me, but she did. Gwen treated me like an old friend that she had known all her life, showing me kindness and respect as she gave me a long hug saying, "welcome to our home." Every time I came to visit Gwen always made me feel at home. Every morning when Gwen saw me, she would say, "Good morning sunshine. What would you like for breakfast?" I will never forget the first time I met Gwen because that was the day Gwen and I became the best of friends. Gwen, I want you to know that I will always miss you, and that I will always have you in my heart. And when you wake up one fine day in paradise, our Lord and Father will be there and say to you, "Good morning sunshine. What would you like for breakfast?"

Dear Sweet Mom,
I didn't want to let you go. We were all holding unto the hope that you would bounce back from this illness just like you've always done in the past. That was not the case this time. My heart is broken; my tears burn my cheeks at having to let you go. I know you are at peace, no more sickness, no more pain. This isn't good-bye. This isn't farewell. It's just a span of time before we meet again. I have peace in my heart knowing you are wrapped in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ. You are more precious than rubies.

Dear Cathy, Terri, Ken and Tina, 

Even though we are cousins that were separated by miles, we feel like you and your parents were such a big part of our family growing up.  The pictures in the photo gallery brought back so many great memories.   I look at the pictures of your mom and see such a likeness to our mom.  Makes us miss her all the more.  Grandpa Bill, Grandma Bertha, and all your mom's siblings raised one very special family. 

Since there were seven in our family growing up, it was difficult to travel much further than Grandpa and Grandma's farm in Fairfield.  I remember one special trip when we came to see your family in Washington State.  It was the first time we saw the ocean and the first time we traveled outside the State of Montana.  What a wonderful memory.  

 We loved seeing Gwen and family at the Johnke Reunions in Fairfield, MT every year.  My sister, Linda, rarely missed any of those gatherings.  Unfortunately, we all have not made the past few and are sorry for that now.  

Gwen was notorious for writing every Christmas so we were able to catch up on each other's family and events at that time.  

We are so very sorry to hear she is no longer with us.  She died at the same age as our mom, Zell; and 78 is far too young.  It is hard to loose your mom, no matter the age.  But I can tell you that she will never leave your side.  It is amazing how our mom and dad slip into our lives even now at times of celebration and sadness.  It is so comforting to know they are still looking out for us.  

Don't be afraid to lean on family, friends, and God at a difficult time like this.  They can be amazing help.  

We would like to invite any and all of you to call if you ever need someone to share memories with or stop by for visits if you are going through Montana or Nebraska.  I will add my contact information and will be happy to pass  along the same for my brother and sisters if you would like.  Please do reach out to us.  We would love to reconnect.
