It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our son, Jacob Brian Kimsey. Jacob died in his home on Friday, the 24th of August 2018. Jacob was born to Brian and Peggy (Unruh) in Torrance, CA on July 5th, 1991. He was a 2010 graduate of Rampart High School and attended college at Westmont in Santa Barbara, CA.
Jacob worked with and loved people. He was the first to approach a stranger and the first to call them friend. He was a tireless shepherd for the hearts of his family and friends, loving them all above himself. Jacob’s tender spirit was apparent to all who knew him, he took great pride in bringing joy to the countless individuals he impacted. He loved the mountains, fishing, exploring, basketball, guiding and sharing those experiences with his friends and family. Jacob was always eager to traverse terrains and adventures he had not yet experienced. He possessed a true passion for God’s creation, and sought to serve Him until the Sovereign LORD called him home.
Jacob is survived by his father Brian, his mother Peggy, and his brother Travis; along with many loving family members and hundreds of grieving friends.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, September 1st at the World Prayer Center of New Life Church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers please contribute to https://www.gofundme.com/the-jacob-kimsey-funeral-fund to defray funeral costs and set up a scholarship in Jacob’s name.
