Born on June 30, 1948, in Fort Lupton, Colorado, James lived a life defined by intensity, resilience, and curiosity. He was a devoted father, brother, friend, and a relentless entrepreneur - always building, scheming, and chasing his next vision with grit and passion.
He spent many years in the mountains, where he found peace in nature and pleasure in life’s simple joys: shooting pool, watching movies, sipping a Jack and Coke, or taking in the view from the cabin patio. James could be complex, stubborn, magnetic, and larger than life.
He leaves behind his children Rob, Patrick, Anjelica, Natasha, Forrest, and Cheyenne, as well as extended family Andrew, James, Emma, Nathaniel, and Ella. His legacy also continues through many grandchildren, including one whose spirit he now joins.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Doris, his brothers Kenneth and Donald, his sisters Noreen and Carol, and his wife Dawn.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 13th at 6:00 pm MST at James’ home in Colorado Springs. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and raise a glass in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a cancer research nonprofit, a cause James dedicated much of his life to supporting, such as the American Cancer Society or Cancer Research Institute.
James was deeply loved, fiercely himself, and will be remembered always.
