

Life-long resident of Cripple Creek, James E. McGee, 85, died February 25, 2012, at his home. A viewing will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on March 1, 2012. Cremation will follow. Per Mr. McGee’s request there will be no service. A private inurnment will follow at a later date.
Mr. McGee was born June 15, 1926 in Cripple Creek, Colorado to James E. McGee and Edna Irene Woodworth. He was married February 21, 1948 in Denver, CO to Betty Lou Marsh who preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, James E. McGee (Rhonda) of Cripple Creek; a daughter, Patricia Feltner (Mike) of Manzanola, CO; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and 6 sisters.
Mr. McGee was employed by the Ajax mine, Teller County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator and by the Gold Rush Casino as a parking attendant.
Mr. McGee was well known for his hand-tied fishing flies. Mr. McGee enjoyed fishing and hunting.
