Jennifer Lynn (Rohde) Cofer was born on September 18, 1972 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She entered into God’s presence on November 16, 2024 in Colorado Springs. She was loving mother to her four daughters, Makenna, Madison, Maya and Maliyah. She was a beloved daughter to Bill and Sandy Rohde, a loving sister to Tami Stine and brother, Mark “Bubba” Rohde, and amazing aunt to so many nieces and nephews, as well as a beloved cousin and friend.
After high school, Jennifer graduated, with honors, from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 1996, with a degree in elementary education. Her first job out of college was teaching kindergarten at Wellington, a private school in Seminole, Florida. She also wrote pre-school curriculum for three years while teaching.
She taught at Rudy Elementary in Colorado Springs, until she left teaching to run her home daycare. She continued to work in child care and also had her own business cleaning houses.
Growing up, she attended the Church of Christ in Claremore, Oklahoma, Pulpit Rock Church in Colorado Springs and Irving Bible Church in Texas.
Jennifer loved the ocean and beach where she enjoyed snorkeling and trying to find those elusive sea turtles. She loved going to all of the Disney theme parks, especially Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom – that may have been where her love of cheetah print came from. She would often sing harmonies to old hymns she knew from childhood. She loved dressing her daughters in matching outfits with bows. The bigger the bow, the better.
She was a great friend and loved her high school, college and church friends immensely. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and provide a meal when babies were born or if someone was sick or grieving.
One of her greatest passions was creating scrapbooks. She was a documentarian of her family’s life, which provides a lasting legacy to her family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Makenna Isabella Cofer of New York City; Madison Emmalee Cofer of Colorado Springs; Maya Brooklynn Cofer of Colorado Springs; and Maliyah Grace Cofer of Colorado Springs; Her father, William “Bill” E. Rohde of Grove, Oklahoma, her sister Tamara Stine of Colorado Springs, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Sandy Rohde; her brother Mark; her grandparents George and Lessie Robertson and William and Hazel Rohde.
