Jeremy was born on December 12, 1996, at the Naval Hospital in Guam. Jeremy was the son of Gregory Ives and Brenda (Snodgrass) Ives and the cherished little brother of La’Teasha and Nicole, who adored him.
Raised in Tucson, Jeremy attended Wrightstown Elementary, Magee Middle School, and graduated from Sabino High School in 2015. He lived most recently in Colorado Springs, where he worked as a Medical Assistant and where his faithful dog Benji stayed by his side until the end.
Jeremy’s family life was full of noise and laughter. He became an uncle at eight and treated Elijiah and Jai’La more like younger siblings than nieces and nephews. They held epic wrestling matches and built blanket forts that, in Jeremy’s words, were “the best forts ever.” Jeremy loved animals, sharing a home and a heart with four cats and two dogs alongside his long-time partner, Karrissa.
He lived loudly and without apology: a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan who was also the first to shout “Bear Down Arizona” at U of A games, and a music lover with an eclectic playlist. When he first heard Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt,” he turned to his mother and asked, “Mom, have you heard of this Johnny Cash guy?” — a small, perfect example of how Jeremy could turn a discovery into a lasting memory.
Jeremy is survived by his mother Brenda; his father Greg and stepmother Laurie; his sisters La’Teasha and Nicole; his nephew and niece Elijiah and Jai’La; his partner Karrissa; and his grandparents Keith and Elaine Snodgrass, Lloyd and Judy Christenson, and Ron and Karen Ives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ramona (Beaner) and Darrell Lewis.
A celebration of Jeremy’s life will be held September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lodge on the Desert in Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
