Joanne Silva, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2013 after a long illness. She was born on September 25, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Leo and Erna Kedrok. She was such a special person to those who knew and loved her. She always put the care and well-being of others before herself. One of Joanne’s favorite pastimes was reading, and she spent many years teaching and sharing her love of reading with children and youth in the Milton and Whitewater, Wisconsin school districts. Joanne will be missed greatly and is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Donald Silva, daughters; Sharon Theune (Tom) and Amy Silva-Smith (Barry), grandchildren; Ben and Lauren Theune and Nathan and Brady Smith, and her brother, Paul Kedrok. The family would like to thank Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care and the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center for their support and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Joanne’s name to:
The SEE THE FUTURE Fund (Scholarships for blind and visually impaired students), P.O. Box 63022, Colorado Springs, CO 80962-3022, www.seethe future.org
