

Joe was born October 7, 1953 in Florida to Joe J. Rogers II and Hazel L. Rogers. Joe was the first of four children, Kimberly Carter, Patricia Wilson, and Nelson Rogers. Joe was also close with his nephews, Stike Buludis and Mike Rogers.
Growing up in Virginia, they loved to go to Langley Air Force Base to the Dance Hall. Joe loved to ride dirt bikes. He graduated from York High School in 1972.
Joe joined the United States Air Force in 1972. After serving in the Air Force he transitioned to the United States Army where he served until his retirement in Colorado, June of 1997. In November of 2000, Joe became a Colorado State Trooper for nearly 20 years.
During a tour in Germany, he met Erika Rogers in 1979 at Club Paradise. They were married in 1982 and had a daughter, Diana Rogers, born in 1983.
In the Summer of 2004 he met Fenny Rogers. They were married on December 20, 2004. Together they enjoyed traveling, and were able to visit Israel in 2014. They also made many trips to see Indonesia, Joe's last visit being in January of 2023.
On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptised by Pastor Mel Waters at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Joe will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
A Visitation for Joe will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 AM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Reception to follow.
Joe will be laid to rest Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
