John Paul Dalsaso passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 10, 2026. He was born on January 11, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Broadmoor Elementary School, Cheyenne Mountain Junior High and was a senior at Cheyenne Mountain High School.
With one foot in heaven and the other here on earth, John Paul touched every single person blessed to cross his path. John Paul loved bigger than anyone, and to know him was to love him. He loved rough housing with his twin brother James, playing basketball, riding his bike, playing video games with his best friends, walking the neighborhood dogs and spending time with his family. He was an active member at St. Paul Catholic Church, where he loved ushering every Sunday. John Paul was an early entrepreneur, passionate about his self-founded business, JP Scoops, which is where he spent his Saturdays. He also proudly worked for Summit Catering, his first “big kid job”.
His life changed forever in 2020 when he joined Colorado Special Olympics and the Pikes Peak Wolves, where he was a valuable team player and became an amazing leader, his enthusiasm and love for life shining through in every moment. He earned an incredible number of gold medals through his athletic endeavors, including basketball, bowling, tennis, and swimming. He made numerous friends through the Special Olympics and the Cheyenne Mountain Unified teams.
John Paul cared deeply for every person who shared his life and lit up each of their worlds, making it his mission to be everyone’s best friend. Without question, if everyone treated others the way JP did, it would be a much better world.
