

Father Halloran was born at Glockner Hospital in Colorado Springs on Dec. 21, 1920, to James and Mary Halloran. He attended Blessed Sacrament School in Denver, St. Joseph School in Fort Collins and graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School in 1937. He studied at Regis College and St. Thomas Seminary in Denver and was ordained a priest on May 31, 1947 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
From 1947-1952, Father Halloran served as Assistant Pastor at St. Joseph’s Church in Grand Junction. He then served as pastor at St. Patrick (later renamed St. Daniel the Prophet Parish) and at other parishes along the Utah border in Ouray, Silverton, and Telluride from 1952 - 1961.
Following that assignment, Father Halloran served as pastor at St. Mary Parish in Montrose from 1961 to 1969. He then moved to St. Francis Xavier Parish in Pueblo to serve as pastor from 1969 to 1980.
In 1978, he earned a master’s degree in applied theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif.
Father Halloran’s final assignment was at St. Joseph Parish in Salida from 1980 - 1990. He then retired from parish ministry in January of 1991.
Father Halloran is survived by a brother, Father James Halloran, who is also a retired priest of the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
