Joyanna Marie Plachy

Joyanna was born March 8th, 1960 in Chicago Illinois to Sheila Smith and Richard Plachy. She had two siblings Amber and Keith Plachy. Joy in her early life loved gymnastics, cars, downtown Chicago, the World’s fair, Cheerleading and school.

Joy’s early adult life was mostly spent in the family Bus Station and grill. She then worked in the restaurant industry as a Short order cook,pie maker and kitchen manager while doing property management on family property. Later in her life she did home renovations and property clean ups. Joy never stopped moving, working and was an absolute force of nature and work horse for her family. She was always working towards future goals, dreams and plans for her family and kids.

She raised her children Josh and Jason Reid in Thayer Mo, where she enjoyed Floating the Spring river, going to Lake Norfork, camping, moon and star gazing, traveling the ozarks, making jewelry, crafting and spending time with her kids and extended family. Joy always made time for her sons basketball, football, tennis, cross country, track and Church events while working multiple jobs and being an entrepreneur.

Joy came to Colorado in 2016 for a visit with her family and never made it back to the MO. She loved the Moon and Star gazing at Pikes Peak/Rockie Mountains. Joy loved the big skies and all the amazing sunsets over Pikes Peak. Her Children and Grandchildren were everything to her heart, soul and mind. She fought hard with lung disease and they were what kept her alive and going till she lost her battle with COPD and cancer.

Joyanna is survived by her two sons, Josh Reid and Jason Reid, Daughter in Law Amber Castellon, grandchildren Caiden Reid and Jaxon Reid, her sister Amber Bourland, cousin Kathy Bentham, countless nephews,nieces and close friends.

Joy will be cremated at Mountain View Mortuary and her ashes will be kept by the surviving family and also spread on several rivers and lakes in Southwest Mo and Arkansas.
