Judy was born on May 10, 1944, to Jesse and Velda Quail in Shunk, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Loyalsock Area High School in 1962 and proudly served her country in the United States Air Force.
On August 24, 1963, Judy married the love of her life, Tom Ferguson. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2020.
Judy was a talented quilter, an animal lover, and a true farm girl at heart. She grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania and continued that lifestyle later in life by working in her garden, raising chickens and doting on her beloved dog, Chloe.
She was also a devoted community volunteer, giving many years of service to the LDS Young Women’s program and Cub Scouts, where her dedication was recognized with the distinguished Silver Beaver Award in 2009.
Judy is lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy, Jo Ann (Rodd), and Jay (Christine); her grandchildren, Chelsea (Ryan), Kyle, Zac, Abbie (Mac), and Daytona; her great-grandchildren, Carson and Cameron; and her siblings, Beanie, Delbert, Wayne (Linda), Beverly, Edie (Kenny), and Dann (Dora). She also shared a special bond with her niece, Carolyn.
A visitation to honor Judy’s life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A committal service with military honors will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
