

Kathleen was born on October 1, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, one of four children of Daniel and Marie (Galligan) Sinclair. She worked as an Executive Secretary with the Department of Labor in Washington DC and with the Federal Aviation Administration in Denver, CO. During the early 1950’s she assisted with the U.S.O. in Washington DC where she met her future husband, Richard Rex Carlton. After their marriage, she followed her husband from Washington DC to Denver CO, Pleasanton CA, and Medina OH as he progressed in his career with United Airlines. Kathleen and Richard enjoyed 55 years of marriage together prior to Richard’s passing in 2008.
Kathleen is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Julia L. (Finwick) Carlton of Monument, CO, grandson Bradford S. Carlton and his wife Dianna Sudia-Smith of Akron OH, grandson, Austin G. Carlton and granddaughter, Caitlynne E. Carlton, both of Monument, CO, Nephew, Robert Bruckner of Collegeville, PA and niece, Amy Bruckner of Downingtown, PA.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brother-in-laws, Marie & Robert Bruckner and Regina & John Sheriff, and niece, Andrea Bruckner Meyle.
A private family viewing was held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Liberty Heights Assisted Living Facility in Colorado Springs, CO
Internment with her late husband, Richard, will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH at a date still to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made in Kathleen’s name to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation of Colorado Springs, CO, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Swan-Law Funeral Directors of Colorado Springs, CO.
