Kathleen Therese (Cavanaugh) Fjelstad passed away on March 10, 2026. Beloved Wife of Robert Martin Fjelstad. Daughter To Arlene Marie (Kiley) Cavanaugh and Patrick James Cavanaugh. Mother to Nicholas Joseph Rubbo III (Renee Huff Rubbo), Theresa Michaeleen (Rubbo) Gittleman, (David Gittleman), Aaron Michael Rubbo. Grandmother to Nicholas Joseph Rubbo IV, Kayla Nichole Rubbo, Devin Alexander Gittleman, Gabrielle Arlene Kiley (Gittleman) Williams, Jeremiah Daniel Fidelis Gittleman, Jaden K, Rihann S. Great Grandmother to Seraphina Rose Williams, Azreal Jakil Williams. Survived by siblings, Charlene Tinkham, Mary McCarrick, (Ray McCarrick), Carolyn Hanz.

Kathleen was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 23, 1950. She grew up in Garden City, Michigan and graduated from Garden City High School in 1968. She was married to Nicholas Joseph Rubbo II and raised her family in the city of Detroit. She was active in St Christopher Church and loved being part of the choir for many years and was a soft ball coach for her church. She loved to bowl, play baseball, and ride her motorcycle and shop. She also liked to go camping and pack up her car to take long road trips all over America. After her divorce in 1996 she started to attend College. She was the first one in her family to attend college. In 1998 she received a degree in Nursing and cared for many patients in the ICU. She also was in the US Navy Reserve and she retired in 2001. She retired from nursing in 2016. She served Operation Desert Storm in 1991. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2001 to be closer to family and faithfully Attended Restoration Church and served in many ministries and led bible study. She married Robert in 2008. Together they travel by motorcycle all over. They enjoyed watching sports together and eating good Mexican food.

She will be dearly missed by many siblings and friends, family and neighbors. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to her favorite charities, Wounded Warriors Foundation or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
