Kathleen Jeanette Upton

Kathleen graduated first in her class at Dassel-Cokato High School before earning her RN from Northpark in Chicago, IL. She married Earl MacEnulty, and moved to Colorado Springs where she worked as a nurse at Penrose Hospital. To this union, she adopted two children, Chip in 1970 and Michelle in 1972.

She worked as an artisan for Simpich Character Dolls for many years, allowing her to be a full-time mother. She earned a B.S. in Information Technology, working for the Christian Booksellers Association.

Kathleen married Charles Upton. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church since 1966. She was an avid scrapbooker, china painter, and possessed a green thumb in her tender care of plants.

Kathleen is survived by her two sisters, Sherry (Stuart) and Linda (David); her son, Chip MacEnulty (Kristen); her step-children, Chuck (Connie) Upton, Janet (Dani) Vincent and Mitch (Coco) Upton; as well as 12 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Mariann Bengtson; husband, Charles Upton; and daughter, Michelle Renee Selvig.

A Celebration of Life Service for Kathleen will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00PM at First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Kathleen will be laid to rest privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO.
