Kenneth was born on February 8, 1950 in Roswell, New Mexico to Nettie Marie and Littleton Hobbs Conklin. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Gail Belyeu the love of his life, on August 21, 1970 in Dexter, New Mexico. The two of them owned AGA Low Vision which provided magnification equipment for the visually impaired.
Kenneth was a godly Christian man who had a deep love for Christ. Throughout his life he served the church in various lay ministries. He enjoyed showing Christ’s love to others and aspired to be the best example of a husband, father, PaPa, and friend.
He took pleasure in the great outdoors and pursued golf, skiing, hiking, and running. He was passionate about good Mexican food and particularly loved Hatch, New Mexico Chile. Kenneth was also active with Joni and Friends, as well as many organizations for the visually impaired.
He is survived by his wife Linda Belyeu-Conklin, his son Brian and wife Shannon Conklin, his daughter Erin and husband Wade Moter. He also has 8 wonderful grandkids, Gabriel, Joshua, Isabella, Abygaile, Andrew, Ian, Quentin, and Johanna that he enjoyed and loved very much. His surviving siblings are Cecil Conklin, Geraldine Swarengin, Billie Grimm, Larry Conklin, and Patricia Berry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Vescovi.
A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Brent Williams was held on Friday, March 1st 2013, at 10:30 AM at Woodmen Valley Chapel, 8292 Woodmen Valley View, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The family suggests those wishing to commemorate and honor the life of Kenneth Conklin, to make memorial donations to the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ALS. The family thanks you and greatly appreciates your gifts.
