

Ken Wickham, age 88, went to be with his Lord on March 18, 2024. Ken was born to George and Josephine Wickham in Yakima, WA and moved to Hamilton, MT at the age of one. While attending the University of Montana, Ken worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a smoke jumper. Later, he served in the Air National Guard and flew in an F-89 as a Radar Intercept Officer. It was at this time that he met his future wife Sandra (Sandy) Bonnell. They were wed on January 2, 1960 during a blizzard in Duluth, MN.
Ken graduated from the University of Montana, Missoula and went on to serve as an Air Traffic Controller in the USAF. During his AF career, Ken and his family were stationed in TX, Germany, Ml, England, and CO. Ken served remote tours in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Chidlaw Building in Colorado Springs after 21 years of service. While in the USAF, Ken was awarded many medals, including the Airman's Medal and the Bronze Star. After retirement, Ken and Sandy worked together in real estate for over 30 years. He helped start BNI Chapter Network Masters and was a member for many years. With his dry sense of humor, Ken made many friends. He enjoyed fishing and target shooting. Ken loved being in the Colorado mountains and spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandy, his children, Julia (Craig) Maraschky and Scott (Bobbi) Wickham, and four granddaughters, Lisa {Osman) Tanrikulu, Sarah Maraschky, Lauren Wickham, and Emma Maraschky. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Wickham.
A celebration of life will be held on May 11 at 1pm at Heart Song Church, 3815 N Academy Blvd. Reception to follow. Private internment at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on May 13, 2024.
