Lawrence Rothhaupt, age 79, of Colorado Springs, passed away unexpectedly on 28 November 2025. He was born 25 June 1946 in Sacramento, CA, to George and Catherine, and had a younger sister Karin. Lawrence graduated from El Camino High School in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and retired as a CW3 in 1988. While living in Germany for many of those years, he fully embraced the culture and language, and also passed along his passion for flying to his children.
Lawrence met his wife Rebecca in Colorado Springs and married in 2002, and together they made many memories around their beloved Pike's Peak area. Well into his later years, he continued to pursue his hobbies of woodworking, cooking, skiing and singing. He is survived by his sister Karin, sons Ulrich, George (with DeAnna), and Aaron, step children Mike (with Elizabeth), Shannon (with Josh) and Caley (with Mark). Lawrence found his true calling as a grandfather to Jonathan, Aiden, Andrew, Jacob, Conner, Gillian, Sophia and Nora.
Services will be held on 15 December at 11am at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
