

He Moved from Kansas to Florissant, Colorado, where he went to school from fourth grade to twelfth.
Went into the Navy in May of 1945. He shipped to the Philippines in September of 1945. This was the adventure of his life. In his later years he talked of this often.
He joined the police department on December 1, 1955. He served 36 years and retired January 1, 1991. One of his first assignments was as a driver for Chief Dad Bruce. He went through the ranks and retired as a lieutenant.
Les is survived by Betty, his wife of 73 years, son Jerold Davis, and his brother Gary Davis. He was preceded in death by two children, Sharon Gail and Ronald Lindsey, his parents Charles and Elizabeth Davis, four brothers, Harold L. Davis, Leo D. Davis. Charles Davis, Terry Lee Davis, sister Betty Lorraine Lockwood. He has many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Les had many talents. As a pilot, he flew prisoners from one state to another. He was a first line marksman on the police department pistol team where he won many trophies.
On the lighter side, a poet where he showed his sweet and tender self and his comic and mischievous side.
He will be missed here on earth but welcomed in heaven.
A celebration of life for Leslie will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors on Wednesday June 11th at 10:00 AM followed by a committal service at Florissant Pioneer Cemetery, Florissant, CO.
