Lisa J. Kennedy

Lisa J. Kennedy passed from this life on Sunday August 28, 2011. She was born to Robert C. and R. Renee Kennedy in Colorado Springs on May 12, 1956. Lisa is survived by her sisters Candy Deutsch and Michele Starling, her brother Kelly Kennedy, her aunt Susan Bydalek and by her many nieces and nephews.

For over 20 years Lisa worked for Colorado Springs Utilities and recently retired as a Senior Account Specialist. Before joining CSU she was with the Colorado Springs YMCA.

Lisa enjoyed great food, good movies and traveling to Washington D.C., She had a very quick wit, a delightful sense of humor and a classic sense of style.

Lisa was diagnosed with LAM in 2004. This very rare lung disease was one of her greatest challenges. Lisa met it head on and never wavered. She was quietly courageous and continued to be independent as the LAM progressed. Family members, health care professionals and co-workers were all impressed by her positive attitude and her faith.

Lisa was loved by so many and will be missed, but never forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Mary Cathedral Friday September 2, 2011 at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family requests donations in her name to the LAM Foundation, 4015 Executive Park Dr., Ste 320, Cincinnati, OH 45241 or the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
