

She fought a good fight against cancer for the past 12 years. She wanted life, and she fought for it as hard as she could, but ultimately lost the battle.
Lucy is survived by her Husband Robert Prether, sons David and Steven, and daughters Diana and Mindy, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marcia, her parents Leo and Erna Hanau, and brother Henry Hanau.
Lucy loved life and especially travel. She had friends scattered around the world. Some of her friends say that Lucy collected people. She also loved big family gatherings, the Friday night neighborhood gatherings and decorating for every holiday.
She was a great cook and for part of her career was a medical technician and later an educator. But most of all she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
There will be a viewing at Swan Law Funeral home 501 North Cascade on Tuesday the 25th of June at 4 to 7 o’clock.
There will also be a celebration of life at the same location on July 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests a donation to Memorial Hospital Foundation or your favorite charity in memory of Lucy.
