

Marianne Norvel was born on March 19, 1936 in Stuttgart Germany. She passed away on September 4, 2022. She was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, father Otto Saenftl and mother Marta Stoos. Brothers Walter Saenftl and Horst Otto Saenftl. Sisters Sieglinde Steinke and Waltraud Franz. Daughters Theresa Norvel and Rositha Bolden. She was survived by her husband Herman Norvel, sister Rosemarie Santiago, daughters Anita Scott and Janetta Norvel. Six grandchildren, Kermit, Serena, Nicole, Julian, Shalonda and Trevor. Eleven great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
Beloved wife of Herman Norvel, Mutti and Oma whose love of gardening, hiking, knitting, cooking and travel filled her days. She was an excellent cook who lovingly prepared homemade meals for her family and friends, she was also an excellent baker. She raised her children in a German speaking family, financial responsibility was also shared with her children and grandchildren. Dressing well was an important part of her life, her grandkids knew her love for animal print. She was a native of Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and later transitioned to the United States as a military wife and mother. She had the ability to converse in both German and English, and this bilingual ability was shared with her girls. She was a helper to soldiers and families under her husband’s care, and was also a support to those in her immediate surroundings. To know her was to know you had someone in your corner, someone who would give you the honest truth. She was a giver and freely shared what she had. She was not one to give up easy in any situation both in life and health and she fought hard to the very end.
