She was born on January 11, 1951, to Oliver & Rosella Klassen. As a child she grew up in Goessel, Newton & Elbing KS with her 4 siblings where she enjoyed reading, school, horseback riding, and barrel racing her favorite horse, Brandy. Marge graduated from Remington high School in 1969 and shortly after entered college at Butler County Community College, graduating from Wesley Medical Center's Nursing Program in 1972. She spent most of her career as an RN at Wesley Medical Center within the Pediatric ICU, Labor & Delivery, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Neurology departments. Marge's nickname from her coworkers was "Marge The Sarge". After over 40 years in Nursing, she retired in 2014 to spend time with her family.
Marge married Douglas Snyder on July 13, 1974, in Elbing, KS. The family eventually settled in Andover, KS in 1987. They had three children, Mark, Tiffany, and Lori and many loved animals. Marge showed her love for her family with the food she cooked and the gatherings she held. You never left her house hungry and there is an on-going discussion on who had the best guacamole that is still unresolved.
In her retired life she enjoyed reading, quilting, and spending time with her friends and family. Marge took care of many family members throughout their medical struggles and her endearing love and compassion was felt by all. Many will remember Marge as a "social" butterfly" that could pick up a conversation right where it had left off months or even years later.
She is preceded in death by Rosella Klassen-Bolen (Mother), Oliver Klassen (Father), Lena Woolverton (Sister), and Mark Snyder (Son). She is survived by her husband Douglas Snyder of Colorado Springs, CO, daughters Tiffany (Jeremy) Linkous of Colorado Springs, CO and Lori (Eric) McPherson of DeSoto, KS as well as grandchildren Arianna and Taylin Linkous of Colorado Springs, CO, Jordan McPherson of Wichita, KS and Mckenzie McPherson of DeSoto, KS. She is survived by her siblings Rosanne Hayes of Goessel, KS, David Klassen of Moundridge, KS, and Alan Klassen of Logan, IA along with many other family members who will all miss her. The family asks that any donations made go to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name to further research of this disease.
Someone once said, "After a lifetime of caring for others, may you now rest in eternal peace".
