Mary Ann "Mickey" Scibona

Mary Ann (Mickey) Scibona was born in Rochester, N.Y. on June 23, 1935 and was called by our Lord to be by His side on November 11, 2012.

She married Joseph A. Scibona on July 14, 1956 and joined him to complete a 27 year Air Force career often saying "we will make home wherever you hang your hat". That first home was in Texas where a year later their son Joe was born. Then off to the Territory of Alaska and statehood in 1959 where her daughter RoseAnn was born. The hat continued to move to new homes in Florida, Hawaii, Japan, Colorado, California, Oklahoma and finally back to Colorado where the hat was finally retired in 1979 to a permanent home. However, all those years of travel and living in different places and meeting and making friends brought one more home into her life. One that came on wheels driven by a powerful engine that allowed her to relish rekindling the many friendships she had made now living in many parts of the country. Having lived in foreign countries, and crossed the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans plus visited the countries of Canada and Mexico, she realized there were a few states she had not set foot in. On the occasion of celebrating her 50th anniversary she and husband embarked on a trip of over 7500 miles to close the loop that missed those few states. After crossing the Maine border and having her most relished meal of a lobster dinner it was back to where the hat was hanging.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings.

Mickey is survived by her husband Joseph and a loving son Joseph Andrew, an adoring

Daughter, RoseAnn; 3 grandchildren, Whitney Marie, Joseph Anthony, and Michael Andrew

along with 4 great grandchildren, Amaiya, Catalina, ChyAnne and Michael.

In keeping with her lifelong spirit of always giving Mickey donated her body to medical science in the hopes that someone would benefit from this last act of her generosity.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2012 at 2:00pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
