Mary Frances Vaccaro

Mary Frances “Fran” Vaccaro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on February 25, 2022 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, October 23, 1939, the third of three children born to the late Alan and Gladys Johnstone.

Fran graduated from Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1958. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs with a master’s degree.

She enjoyed many outdoor activities in her life and considered her highest achievement riding a tandem bicycle 340 miles in 4 days in the Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa with her husband, Joseph. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises in her later years. She also considered family and friends an extremely important part of her life.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Joseph A. Vaccaro; loving children Margie (Alan) Billau of Los Lunas, New Mexico; Mark Weinhold of Paonia, Colorado; Jennifer Kiley of Iva, South Carolina; grandchildren, Ashley and Garrett Kiley; precious great grandson, Korbin; sister, Anne (Jack) Stumpf of Scottsdale, Arizona; as well as a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Johnstone, and her much loved granddaughter, Haley Kiley.

A memorial service will be held with family at a later date.
