

Maxine Kramer passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2022 in her daughter in law, Alverna Kramer’s home, alongside her grandson, Keegan Kramer. She was born on August 1st, 1922, to her parents Max and Mollie (Klann) Schwandt. Her siblings were Elmer, Irvin, Hazel, Marjorie, Melvin, Marion and Delores, of which Delores (Hugill) is the only one to survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wally, her sons John, James who passed at childbirth, Frank and her granddaughter, Kerrye.
She is survived by her daughter in law, Alverna, her remaining grandchildren Kelsey Lohmeyer, Keegan Kramer, and many nephews and nieces here in Colorado Springs and Michigan.
She was married to Wally on July 12th 1947. During her time she was able to travel to Germany, France, and Okinawa. She loved being in Okinawa and while there she helped serve on school buses in which she had received a plaque for her dedication of service. When Wally had retired from his service in the Army, they both retired and settled here in Colorado Springs at 2127 Mt Werner Pl. where she enjoyed her neighbors and her community center on El Paso Street. It was where she met her lifetime friends until 2021 when she was no longer mobile.
She achieved her lifelong goal of making it to her 100th birthday which was celebrated on August 1st at Meadows Park Community Center. Her celebration was tapped by KOAA channel 5 news and was placed on Facebook as well.
There will be a private memorial service to Honor the life of Maxine Kramer and the things she had achieved and accomplished in her 100 years.
