

Born in LeRoy, Iowa, and a farm boy at heart, his military career of 30 years took him all around the world. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for the past 45 years. During his distinguished service in the USAF he was a pilot in World War II, Korea, the Berlin Air Lift and Vietnam. His many honors included the Distinguished Flying Cross.
After retiring he was the Customer relations manager for Money Oldsmobile and then in 1972 started Colonial Conoco Distributorship. He was also a wholesale car dealer.
He was married to his highschool sweetheart for 55 years, Gwendolyn (Walker), who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his son Randall.
He is survived by daughter Janet Jordan (Dave) of Penrose; grandchildren Kimberly Directo (Darryl) of Colorado Springs, Gregory Stogdill (Melanie) of Arkansas, Kari Garcia of Arkansas, Danielle Jordan, Derek Jordan, and Dillon Jordan of Colorado Springs; and 3 great grand-children.
Pete was a member of the Colorado Golf Assn., and a course rater and tournament volunteer for them. He enjoyed making custom golf clubs in his workshop, and always improving his own game. He belonged to ORBS at Peterson AFB. In addition he liked working on and restoring vehicles. He was a lifelong member of the Grand Lodge of Iowa.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Monday April 16 at Swan Law Funeral Home, with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gravity, Iowa. The family would like to thank his caregivers and Evercare Hospice for their loving assistance.
