Melanie Kopasz passed away on October 20, 2012 after a courageous fight with brain cancer. Melanie was born in Pueblo, CO to Lynn and Sandra Kopasz. Melanie moved to Colorado Springs at three months of age and lived there all her life.
Melanie graduated from Wasson High School in 1995. After High School she graduated from Colorado Springs Academy of Therapeutic Massage in 1999. She also graduated with a BA in English/Professional Writing at UCCS in 2007. After receiving her degree Melanie worked for L3 Communications, then Honeywell Technologies Solutions Inc.. Melanie was also a Mary Kay Star Consultant and loved meeting and working with such a great group of women with that Mary Kay enthusiasm. Melanie had a passion for gymnastics, coached at Aerial’s Gymnastics Center during her college years and later coached her daughter’s soccer team. Melanie enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, boating, and four wheeling. She also had a love for her many pets and gardening. Melanie will always be remembered as a very loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She had a vibrant personality, a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a positive outlook on life. She will be in our hearts forever.
Melanie is survived by her son Todd Williamson, her daughter Estee Williamson, her parents Lynn and Sandra Kopasz, her grandmother Marguerite Reid, her grandfather Steve Kopasz, her sister Jenifer (Jurjen) Roos, her brother Kevin (Carrie) Kopasz, and a very large and loving extended family.
Melanie was preceded in death by her grandmother Louise Kopasz, and her grandfather Harold Reid.
Memorial services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO.
