Melvin K Kanzler

Melvin Keith Kanzler, age 89 of Peyton, Co passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Melvin was born on June 20, 1933 in Limon, Colorado to Henry and Syble Kanzler. Melvin is survived by his wife of 53 years Shirley Kanzler, sons Mellie, Danny, Oscar, and Chuck. Daughters Dixie, and Leevaughn as well as their spouses and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Syble. Brothers Hank, Robert, and Les. Sisters Wanda, Esther, and Ruth. And son Elden.

Melvin served in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. After the war he held many jobs to include being a police officer, backhoe operator, framer, concrete formsetter, and flat work just to list a few. In all honesty, there wasn’t a job that Melvin couldn’t do. He was a very hard worker and one of the strongest people you would meet.

Melvin loved many things in life. He loved to go fishing with his family, planting a garden, his John Deere tractor, playing horseshoes, and pretty much anything else where he could be around family and friends. But what he loved most was his wife Shirley who spent 54 years together. Melvin will be greatly missed and was loved deeply by all of us.

Melvin's celebration of life will be on April 15th at 2 pm at Restored Hope Church at 623 Tia Juana St. Grave site services immediately following with a reception at Valley Hi Golf Course from 4-8 pm.
