

Merle Howard Hale went to be with his Savior on August 23, 2011. Merle was born to Howard and Bessie Hale on August 24, 1914 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He married Alma R. Keeth of Oklahoma on June 23, 1935 and moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked at Beach Air Craft. Later he moved to Conifer, Colorado and worked at Martin-Marietta until retirement. Merle was very active in his church, volunteered at several organizations, and was always helping others. Merle would have been 97 years old on August 24, 2011. .
Merle was preceded in death by his wife Alma R. Hale after 54 years of marriage, his brother Paul Hale, and sisters Fern Hale-Glenn and Eva Hale-Cranmer.
He is survived by his brother Earl Hale and sister Helen Hale-Kuhlman as well as his 3 children: Betty (Armand) LaVoie, Barbara (Dan) Stephens and Douglas (Ayn) Hale. From that family he leaves 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Merle married Henrietta Skinner Hale of Colorado Springs on August 25, 1990 and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2011 after nearly 21 years of marriage. From the Skinner family he leaves stepchildren JoAnn Skinner (Ed) Schleis and Richard D. Skinner.
He leaves 4 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives on both sides of the family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Memorial Gardens located at Airport and Academy Blvd.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 29 at 11:00 AM at Central United Methodist Church, 4373 Galley Road and Internment will follow at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens.
