Miah Bundukamara is a beautiful, amiable, sweet, gregarious, sincere, vibrant, outgoing, and loving young lady. She was born at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida to Francis and Cristi Bundukamara on May 1st, 2000. Miah was diagnosed with Dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA) along with her brother, Reggie in 2009 and had her first seizure in 2011. Miah rarely presented as having a neurodegenerative disorder, rather she lit up the room with her smile and larger than life, sweet personality. Miah loved everyone and she let you know it. Taking after her parents, Miah was a social butterfly always greeting friends, family and even new friends with a hug, sweet hello and her beautiful smile. She accepted everyone at face value and truly poured her love out to them. Though Miah had DRPLA, she didn’t let it take over finding joy in life. Every time you encountered her, she blessed you with love and her contagious laughter. She truly was one-of-a-kind. Miah passed away peacefully in her sleep, likely from SUDEP, on the morning of December 14th in her home in Colorado Springs. Miah is survived by her parents, Francis and Cristi Bundukamara as well as siblings Nidra, Cory, Cristina and Kayla. We will forever remember and cherish all the joy she gifted us with during the time we were grateful to have with her.
