

Nance Ann Holland, 68 years old, recently of Colorado Springs passed away on January 26, 2024. She was born in San Diego, CA on December 10, 1955 to George and Mary (Brielmaier) Holland and had seven siblings; George Jr, Linda, Robert, Sarah, Mary, Russell and Lesha; and a step-mother, Beverly Holland. She graduated from Grossmont High School, La Mesa, CA where she was captain of the swimming team and a member of a relay team that set a national high school record. In high school she was a member of Future Farmers of America and was a breeder of Shetland Sheep dogs and raised farm animals. She attended San Diego State University where she majored in English literature. She was married to Richard Duwelius on December 8, 1990 and together they had one daughter, Quinn Holland Duwelius. Nance was an art teacher, a swimming coach, and a fencing coach. Nance had a passion for horses and loved swimming, sports, poetry, painting, travel, politics, and being a mom. She is survived by Richard Duwelius, Quinn Duwelius, Mary Holland Hegarty, Russell Ewing, and Lesha Holland.”
A reception will be held in Nance's honor on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Swan Law Funeral Directors Reception Room, 501 N Cascade Ave Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
